Network toolsOnline lookup (domain shared with resolver)

DNS Lookup

Type a domain, choose a record type and resolver, then press Look up. The tool asks a public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 or Google 8.8.8.8) and shows each answer with its TTL. Choose “Both” to see whether the two resolvers agree.

This lookup runs in an isolated frame on net.freetoolspro.com. Advertising on this page cannot read what you type or the results.

How it works

Your browser sends one HTTPS GET request per resolver to its documented DNS-over-HTTPS JSON endpoint (cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query or dns.google/resolve). The response contains the resolver’s status code, the DNSSEC “authenticated data” flag and the answer records. FreeToolsPro has no server in between and keeps no lookup history.

What is sent, and to whom

The domain name and record type you enter, plus normal connection metadata such as your IP address, go to the resolver you select. Read the Cloudflare and Google Public DNS privacy statements. The lookup runs in an isolated frame on net.freetoolspro.com, so the advertising scripts on this page cannot read the domain or the answers.

Limits

A recursive resolver returns its own cached view. It does not prove that every resolver worldwide sees the same data (this is not a propagation checker), and TTLs count down from the cached copy. Reverse (PTR) lookups and arbitrary record types are not offered. Lookups are rate-limited to keep resolver traffic polite.

Common questions

Why do Cloudflare and Google show different answers?

Each resolver caches records independently. Right after a DNS change, one may still hold the old record until its TTL expires. Geo-aware DNS services can also return different addresses to different resolvers.

Does this work offline?

No. A DNS lookup is an online request by definition. The Offline DNS Record Analyzer checks pasted records without a network connection.

What does “DNSSEC validated” mean?

The resolver set the AD flag, meaning it validated the DNSSEC signature chain for this answer. Unsigned zones simply show “not validated”.
